SkyPax - Retired SDK Integration - update to API

We would like to make you aware of an important change which may affect your access control integration with SkyVisitor.

Paxton has released Net2 v7.0, and this version introduces a significant change that directly impacts third-party integrations as well as their own 'Classic Controllers'.

The API integration between SKYVISITOR and NET2 is unaffected. This uses web services, rather than a local network connection. Please email helpdesk@safetyntsolutions.co.uk to discuss.

What has changed?

• Paxton has discontinued the support for Net2 SDK in v7.0.
Used by SkyVisitor's SkyPax integration for Booker and SkyTouch Windows applications.

• Paxton Net2 SDK integrations with SkyVisitor Windows Apps will no longer function once a system is upgraded to Net2 v7.0 or later.

• Net2 v7.0 is also not compatible with Net2 Classic controllers. Sites using Classic hardware cannot upgrade to v7.0 unless controllers are replaced.

What this means for you:

If your site contains Net2 Classic controllers, you will not be able to upgrade to v7.0 without first replacing this hardware.

If your current SkyVisitor integration is SDK-based, the integration will be unable to communicate with Net2 following the update, and you will need to update to Web Services. The Safetynet team will assist with this.

In some cases, you may prefer to remain on v6.9 for the time being.

What we are doing:

Safetynet are ready to assist with a switch to SKYPAX Web Services.
We are also continuing to invest in working with Paxton Access Control, as well as other Access Control Providers.

What you should do - before updating to v7.0:

• Check if you have any Classic Controllers which you would need to upgrade.

• Contact us to reassess your requirements so we can set this up with Web Services and ensure continuity of service.

• If you are planning an access control upgrade or looking at cloud-based access control / Mobile Access using Smart Device, Biometrics, QR Check in - contact the team.
