How to Set Long Term QR Code in Apple Wallet, typically utilised for Staff or Long Term Contractors enabling QR Scan check in / out, without code timing out due to end of visit.

There are three types of Apple Pass that can be created: Visitor, User, and Custom 
Field. The pass type you choose will determine which QR code will be made 
available in the Apple Pass. You will need to select the pass type that is most 
suitable.
PKPass – Visitor – This will use a Visitor QR code. This QR code is valid only for 
the booked visit, and will expire once the visit has ended. This will be a single-use 
pass. Compatible with the +VisitUser.???+ and +Visit.???+ placeholders.
PKPass – User – This type of pass uses the User QR code. The User QR code is 
permanently assigned to the visitor, and can be used on any valid visits for the 
visitor. The pass can be used multiple times. Compatible with the +User.???+ 
placeholders.
PKPass – Custom Field – This uses a QR generated from a Custom Field. The QR 
code will contain the data entered into the custom field. This QR is not used to 
check in on SkyVisitor

 

The Apple Pass that you have created can now be added to the Email that is sent to a visitor when they have been pre-booked for a visit. When the visitor receives the pre-booking email, they will open it on their iPhone, and be able to tap on the Apple Wallet link or icon contained in the email to save the pass to their phone. To add a clickable link to the Apple Pass, use the below placeholders depending on the type of pass created.
