AI / Emerging Technologies Policy
Ethical, responsible and compliant use of emerging or new technology.
At Safetynet Solutions Ltd, we have established a robust, multi-layered governance framework to direct the development and monitoring of all emerging technologies, including IoT and biometrics.
It is important to note that while Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are not yet implemented in the current version of SKYVISITOR, they are a key part of our future roadmap. Our internal procedures have been proactively developed to ensure that when these technologies are integrated, they will be secure, ethical, responsible, and fully compliant from day one.
The following outlines the best practices that are foundational to this governance framework.
🔒 Secure by Design
We adhere to a strict Security-by-Design principle, which already governs our IoT-enabled hardware. This principle will extend to all future AI/ML components.
-
End-to-End Encryption: All data captured by SKYVISITOR, whether in transit from its IoT platform or at rest, is secured using industry-leading encryption protocols.
-
Continuous Vulnerability Assessment: Our systems undergo regular penetration testing and vulnerability scanning to protect against new threats.
-
Secure Access Control: We enforce multi-factor authentication and role-based access to ensure only authorized personnel can access SKYVISITOR's data or controls.
⚖️ Ethical Oversight and Governance
We maintain an Internal Ethics Group that reviews all new technologies, including those on our roadmap, before development and deployment.
-
Bias and Fairness Audits: Before any models are deployed, our framework mandates that the ML models which will power SKYVISITOR's threat detection or biometric identification must undergo rigorous audits to identify and mitigate potential algorithmic bias.
-
Human-in-the-Loop (HITL): We will mandate HITL protocols for critical algorithmic decision-making. This ensures that a human operator reviews and validates any automated actions proposed by the AI, maintaining human accountability.
-
Prohibited Use Policy: We explicitly define and prohibit the use of our technology for applications that our Ethics Group deems harmful or discriminatory.
🤝 Responsible Use and Accountability
Responsibility is central to our product philosophy. Our framework ensures SKYVISITOR is used as intended.
-
Comprehensive Training: As new AI-driven features are released, clients will be required to complete mandatory certification on their responsible and ethical operation.
-
Full Auditability: Every action, decision, and data point generated by SKYVISITOR is securely logged. This creates a transparent and unchangeable audit trail, ensuring full accountability.
-
Clear Operational Guidelines: We will provide clients with clear "use case" documentation that outlines the intended, responsible parameters for any new AI or biometric-enabled deployment.
Compliance and Data Protection
We proactively monitor the global regulatory landscape to ensure compliance is not an afterthought, but a core component of our design.
-
Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs): As SKYVISITOR is developed to process data like biometrics, we will conduct mandatory DPIAs before deployment, in line with GDPR and other data protection laws.
-
Privacy-by-Design: Features like data minimization (collecting only what is necessary) and automated data anonymization will be built directly into the platform.
-
Regulatory Alignment: Our legal and tech teams work in parallel to ensure our future generative AI (if used for reporting) and chatbot support systems will comply with emerging AI legislation, such as the EU AI Act.
